The aim of this course is to provide the learner with knowledge of Dementia and how to care for a patient, or loved one, living with Dementia. The course enables the attendees to understand the behaviours associated with Dementia and therefore allows them to provide the necessary support to those suffering from this disease
This programme will provide organisations with personnel trained in the basics of Dementia Care, who can work effectively in an elderly care setting. Learners will develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours including; dignity, empathy and respect that are required to work with the elderly.
For those in the healthcare industry this programme will give opportunities to upgrade their skills in the field of Dementia care or diversify into the elderly care sector leading to additional career opportunities. Learners will be taught how to maximise their effectiveness, providing safe and ethical practice, contributing to a constantly changing elderly care environment. Learners will also be trained to respond with greater spontaneity and depth to various scenarios.

Mode of Delivery
This course will be delivered in an interactive and participative manner through lectures, role plays, group discussions and case studies.
The program can be completed within 14 hours.
Learners will be assessed at the end of each day, through the completion of short answer questions and case study discussion.
